Finely cast gilt-bronze figure depicts Shakyamuni Buddha seated in bhūmisparśa mudra (earth-touching gesture), symbolizing the moment of his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. The Buddha is presented with a serene expression, gently smiling, and half-closed eyes reflecting deep meditation. His robe is draped elegantly across the left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder bare, and features subtle incised detailing.
The figure is seated on a double-lotus base with beaded rims, the petals crisply defined and symmetrically arranged, representing purity emerging from the mire of existence. The ushnisha, a cranial protuberance symbolizing wisdom, is delicately formed and crowned with a small, rounded finial.
The fine gilding, well-preserved patina, and confident modelling of the facial features make this an extraordinary representation of Shakyamuni Buddha.
