This statue from the Swat Valley in Western Kashmir depicts a Buddha on a throne supported by two lions on a fragmented, double reverse lotus base.

The legs are crossed, the feet are exposed underneath the wavy robe covering the whole body.

The right hand is raised at chest-height showing the gesture of protection and fearlessness called abhaya mudra.

The other hand is resting on the knee.

The posture is upright, the oval face framed by elongated earlobes, and curls cover head and a big ushnisha.
