Varahi is the feminine energy of Varaha, the boar avatar of Vishnu and typically depicted with a sow head on a female human body, here with six arms. She is dressed in a striped dhoti, her pot-belly is protruding over the belt. Two hands are forming the varada and abhaya mudra, four hands are holding the danda or staff of punishment, khetaka or shield, khadga or sword and pasha or noose. She is wearing a conical crown called karanda mukuta. Varahi is one of the seven Mother Goddessess and associated with darkness and night.
